Policarpo “Polo” Reyes, was born in Moore, Texas. He met the love of his life Isidra Alaniz and they got married on March 26, 1951 in Pearsall, Texas. They were blessed with five children from this union. They moved to Morton, Texas in 1960, where they have been ever since. He worked as a farm laborer his entire life. Polo’s hobbies were taking care of his farm animals, doing yard work, and mowing. He also enjoyed walking with his wife, attending church, spending time with his family and loved “shushing” his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Doroteo and Gregoria Silva Reyes and his son, Rodrigo Reyes. In addition, his sisters, Andrea Tijerina, Ramona Chavira, and Delfina Rodriguez and his brothers, Julian Reyes, Luis Reyes, Juan Reyes, and Lupe Reyes.
Polo is survived by his spouse of 74 years, Isidra Reyes of Morton, TX. Also surviving are his daughters Rosalinda Vasquez of Morton, TX and Susan (Phil) Botello of Morgan Hills, CA, daughter-in-law, Elia Reyes of Durant, OK and his sons Ric (Julia) Reyes of Bandera, TX and John Paul Reyes of Morton, TX also twelve grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. Along with his brother Epifanio Reyes of Pearsall, Tx.
