Phillip Manuel Yruegas was born Saturday, February 12th, 1955 in Littlefield, TX to Nestor & Tomasita Yruegas. He graduated from Muleshoe, TX High School in 1974. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years from 1974 to 1978, where he achieved the rank of Sargeant. On September 20, 1975, he married the love of his life, Martha Duarte. They were married for 46 wonderful years and they had two children from this union. He worked for over 25 years for BYK Inc. in Carrollton and several years for Cambridge Lee Co.
He enjoyed playing the guitar for his family and friends and cooking outdoors while listening to old country western music, including Willie Nelson and George Straight. He was an ardent lover of music and enjoyed playing pool. He liked riding his motorcycle and loved it even more when his wife Martha would ride with him. He loved spending quality time with his son Clyde, refurbishing their 1964 Ford Falcon, and teaching his little girl Shantel how to box. Phillip enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sports activities. Phillip was a straight shooter, if he had something to say, he’d say it and wouldn’t sugar coat it. He liked going on vacation to Panama City Beach, Florida with his family every summer. Phillip had special nicknames for all of his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing in the church choir. He was a member of the men’s cursillo movement for several years and a long-time member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Keller, TX.
