Minerva Mildred Montez

Mildred was born on November 26th, 1956 to Samuel Sr. and Juanita Garcia Montez in Waxahachie, TX. She graduated from Levelland High School in May 1973 and from South Plains College in the late 1970s. She was blessed with three children in her life. Mildred was employed at Cook Memorial Hospital for 6 years and worked at the Hockley County Adult Probation Office in Levelland for several years. She retired from the position of financial administrator and business office manager after 30 years of dedicated service. Her hobbies were cooking and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports. She was a little dribblers basketball coach and softball coach. She was a Texas Longhorn Fan. She was a life time member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Levelland

Mildred is survived by her Mother; Juanita Garcia Montez of Levelland, Daughters; Corina Villasenor, (Brenton “B.R.” Robinson) and Marisa Ortiz, Son; Daniel Ortiz (Rosemary Castro), 4 Grandsons, and 3 Granddaughters. She is also survived by 7 Sisters; Juanita (David) DeLeon of Grand PrairieTexas, Rosario (Raymond) Smith , Mary (Carlos) Solano, Sylvia (Antonio) Valdez, Lydia Guerra, and Gloria (Sixto) Mendez, all of Levelland, Margie Brooker of Odessa Texas, 5 Brothers; Robert (Mary) Montez of Montrose, Colorado, Ronnie (Delia) Montez, Freddie (DeeDee) Montez, Jimmy Montez, all of Levelland, Michael (Leanna) Montez of Arlington Texas, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Spouse Lupe Ortiz, Father Samuel Montez Sr., Brothers; Roberto Montez and Sam Montez Jr, Granddaughter; Anniylah Ortiz, Paternal & Maternal Grandparents.

Reflections of Life will be held Wednesday June 17th, from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. @ Head Duarte Funeral Home.

Rosary will be held Wednesday June 17th, 2020 @ 7:00 P.M. @ Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland. 

Memorial Services will be Thursday June 18th, 2020 @ 2:00 P.M. @ St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Levelland. Officiating will be Rev. Jonathon Phillips under the professional care of Head Duarte Funeral Home.
