Luis F. Barragan

Luis was born  August 17, 1946 to Ramon and Christina Flores Barragan in Canderlaria, TX. He went to be with the Lord October 25, 2020. He married Alicia Guillen on May 20, 1966 in Van Horn, TX. He worked in agriculture as a farmer and rancher for several years. He worked in the Maintenance Department at South Plains College in Levelland until his retirement. Luis was a true cowboy. He loved riding, roping, and working cattle. His second favorite pass time was playing his accordion, cheating at card games, taking care of his farm animals, traveling to Canderlaria, TX and enjoyed watching his sons while they were team roping. He was a long time member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Levelland.

He is preceded in death by his Parents; Ramon and Christina Flores Barragan, Sisters; Pabla Sanchez, Sylvia Jimenez, Lucia Anaya, Adela Villarreal, Brothers; Lino Barragan, and Ramon Barragan.

He is survived by his Spouse of 54 years; Alicia G. Barragan of Levelland, Sons; Luis (Adriana) Barragan of Levelland, Jesse (Amy) Barragan of Amarillo, Daughters; Lupe (Justo Jr.) Rodriguez, Christy Barragan, both of Levelland, 10 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, Sister: Ermila Escontrias of Odessa, Brothers; Ervey Barragan, Armando Barragan, Rod Barragan, and Efrain Barragan, all four of Odessa.

Visitation and Reflections of Life will be Monday and Tuesday, October 26th & 27th, from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. @ Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel of Levelland.

Recitation of Rosary will be Tuesday, Oct. 27th, at 7:00 P.M. at Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 28th, at 2:00 P.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Levelland. Officiating the service will be Reverend Jonathan Phillips and music will be provided by Johnny Vasquez. Interment will follow at the City of Levelland Cemetery of Levelland.
