Juan R "John" was born February 22, 1945 in Nixon, Texas to Macedonio and Angelita Honesto. He attended school in Morton. He married Santos Hernandez July 22, 1963 in Morton. They had 7 children from this union. They’ve lived in Morton ever since. John farmed for the Silhan’s, for several years. His hobbies were watching television, playing card games, e.g., poker, and gambling at the casinos. He enjoyed listening to Tejano music, and drinking a cold one every now and then. He occasionally attended Sunday services at the First Baptist Church in Morton and was a life time member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church also in Morton. Juan went to be with the Lord November 10, 2020.


He was preceded in death by his Parents; Macedonio and Angelita Honesto. Daughter; Petra Honesto. Sisters; Pauline Prieto, Margarita Zapata, and Lupe Zapata. Brothers; Baby Jose Honesto.


He is survived by his spouse of 57 years; Santos Honesto of Morton. Daughters; Delma (Gilbert) Sepulbeda, Patricia (Ramundo) Tarrango of Morton, Deanna (Kelly) Alexander of Enochs, and Ancy Honesto of Odessa. Sons; David (Norma) Tobar of Odessa, and Joe (Lucy) Honesto. 16 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild. Sisters; Mary (Humberto) Mendoza of Portales, N.M., and Eva (Henry) Casarez of Morton. Brothers; Aurelio (Otilia) Honesto, Cruz (Yolanda) Honesto, and Jr. (Mary) Honesto of Morton, Antonio (Sylvia) Lara of Tyler, Felix (Virginia) Honesto of Greely, CO., Joe (Jamie) Honesto of Odessa, and Pablo (Irene) Thomas of Waco, TX.


Reflections of Life and Recitation of the Rosary will be held  Wednesday November 18, 2020 from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. @ Head Memorial Chapel located at 309 N.E. 8th. St. in Morton.


Funeral Services will be Thursday, November 19th, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Morton. Officiating the service will be Fr. Jonathan Phillips and Fr. Rene Perez and music will be provided by Johnny Vasquez.


Honoring him as pallbearers will be Friends and Family


Inurnment: To be announced with further notice


Facial masks must be worn and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
