Jose V. Castillo, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on July 24th, 2026 in Lubbock surrounded with his loving family at his bed side.  He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle.  Joe , attended school in Whitharral during his younger years and worked for Fred Owens farm in Levelland and Rancher in Corpus Christi, Tx for several years.  He relocated back to Levelland in 2001.   He married the love of his life Marina Saucedo, on October 2nd, 2003 in Levelland.  They shared five children from this union.   Joe was a Sagrado Corazon and a Cursillista and a long-time member of Saint Michael’s Catholic church in Levelland.  He helped with the choir playing with Max Ledesma his best friend and The Ledesma Family occasionally during church services.

He catered to several families serving hot meals and cool beverages at the catholic hall with several members of St. Michael’s Catholic Church meal ministries.  His hobbies were playing guitar, he liked listening to religious music, working with his hand’s carpentry, working on his garden tomatoes plants , hot peppers, and squash, and floral bushes. Building bird houses for Marina , playing music on his guitar in the wee hours of the night.  Liked driving around in the park in Lubbock with his best girl Marina and Joe spared no expense when he took her to their favorite hot spot to eat “Allsup’s “ to get their favorite combos burritos, soft drink and some chips for him and his best date. He enjoyed going to the car shows. Traveling to visit family and friends.  Joe’s passion in life was his dedication to his Catholic religion, family, and loving all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  His memory shall be cherished by his family and friends.

Sons: Joe Castillo Jr. of Lubbock and Steve Castillo of Levelland

Grandchildren:  16   Great Grand Children:  8

Sisters :   Janie Loa, Yolanda (Belisario) Perez , Estella Sanchez, Linda ( Abel) Perez, and Mary Hope (Alfonso) Ruiz all five of Levelland.

Brothers:  Johnny (Alice) Castillo and Cande (Angel) Castillo both of Levelland, Arthur (Judy) Castillo, Seberiano Castillo Jr. , Phillip Castillo, and Wally (Noelda) Castillo all four of Levelland.
