Florence   was born on October 3rd, 1937 in Naples, TX to Willie and Nillie Mae Mayhaw.

She graduated with a BBA of Management from Texas Tech University, and Associates at South Plains College in Business Management.   Florence worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington B.S. for. a couple of years then returned to Levelland and started to work for Texas Lubbock Anesthesiology and associates as an office Mgr.  She worked for Doctor Vardie for many years  She married Robert Luis Shoemaker in 1963 in Levelland.  Florence, worked for 13 different Physicians from 1956 -1988 and several Clinics and hospitals.  Also, the director of Hockley County Senor citizens.   She was a long-time member and secretary of Treasure with the Levelland Evening Lions Club.  Her hobbies were running around going to South Plains college cosmetology to get her hair and nails prepped and helping her husband in his wood shop carpentry, liked sewing, crocheting, quilting and going on trips with her friend Shirley Ward.  A long time Member of The Red Hat Ladies club.  She was a Christian and would read her bible.  Florence, loved her nephews and niece
