Elsie Amalla Gamboa, a beacon of selfless love and intelligent grace, has completed her earthly journey. On April 27th, 2025, at the age of 84, Elsie passed away peacefully in Los Lunas, New Mexico, surrounded by the love of her family Born on June 14th, 1940, in the quaint town of Cuervo, New Mexico, She was the cherished daughter of Victor Sr. and Andelesia Lucero Amalla. Her life was a testament to the power of nurturing and the strength of the human spirit.

Elsie's early years in Maple, Texas. Laid the foundation for a life of service and care After graduating from Three Way High School in 1959, she pursued her passion for healing at the Methodist School of nursing in Lubbock was earning her LVN. Elsie's thirst for knowledge was unquenchable, leading her to Texas Tech University, where she worked toward her BSN in Nursing. She began her career at West Texas Hospital in Lubbock and later brought her talents to the private practice of Dr. Kenneth B. Mc Bride, ultimately retiring from nursing in San Antonio a testament to her dedication and commitment to others.

Elsie's life was rich with interests that filled her heart with joy. She loved to bake pecan pies. She was an avid sports enthusiast, cheering on her beloved San Antonio Spurs and Boston Celtics, and reveling in the triumphs of the Olympic Games. Her competitive spirit shone brightly as she played volleyball, basketball, and engaged in games of dominoes. 

Checkers, and gin rummy. Elsie, was also a cultural aficionado finding solace and excitement in the adventures of John Wayne, the narratives of "Gunsmoke," "Rawhide," "Have Gun Will Travel," " High Chaparral, " the humor of" I Love Lucy" and the explorations of "Star Trek".

Elsie, was a woman of enduring love, leaving behind a legacy through her family. She joins in eternal rest her parents, Victor Sr. and Andelesia Lucero Amalla, her beloved husband, Luis C. Gamboa Jr. her treasured daughter, Helen Gamboa Blanco, her dear siblings Mercedes A. Alonzo, Mary Lou L. Sambrano, Frances Hermosillo, Fred L. An1alla, Antonio L. Amalla, Ralph L. Amalla, and Victor L. Amalla Jr. She is survived by her devoted son, Luis Amalla Gamboa III and his wife Virgina Irene Gibson,  Cecil L. Amalla , Jose Domingo L Amalla. Her adoring grandchildren Roldan G. Blanco, Andres Blanco, Antonio G. Blanco, Brandon Gibson, Heather G. Acevedo, Crystal Gomez and Monica Gomez, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren Jaxon Burkhalter, Diego Acevedo, Nico Acevedo Raven Gomez, Gabriella Acevedo , Liliana Acevedo, Ginger Burkhalter ,and Natalia Acevedo, Helen G. Blanco, 

Elsie was an embodiment of inspiration, touching lives with her kindness and wisdom. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. "Elsie truly succeeded, for she left an indelible mark on the hears of all who knew her. Her legacy is one of compassion resilience, and an unwavering commitment to the well-being of others.

As we reflect on Elsie's life, we are reminded of her unyielding spirit and the joy she brought to every room. Her memory will continue to motivate us to live with purpose and to cherish every moment. Elsie's story encourages us to embrace our passions, to extend kindness, and to pursue our dreams with courage.
