Dionicia Flores was born to Manuel Sr. & Esagra Flores on October 9th, 1926 in Temple TX. She married Arturo Barrera Sr. on December 3rd, 1951 in McCallen, TX. In 1960 they moved to Seagraves from Seminole. They then moved to Levelland, where she has lived ever since. She has been a life time member of Assembly of God / Sendro De La Cruz Church of Seagraves. She liked reading her bible both in English and in Spanish and she sang at her church. She enjoyed quilting, was a seamstress and sewed for everybody. She had a floral garden every year. Her passion in life was her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and she also did a lot of babysitting. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Manuel Sr. & Esagra Flores, her spouse of 44 years; Arturo Barrera Sr., daughter; Consuelo Barrera; brother; Manuel Flores Jr., Sister; Cecilia Garcia, and granddaughter; Irene Valles.
She is survived by daughters; Rose Mary (Jesse) Valles of Seagraves, Mary Martinez, Helen Barrera, and Marie White, all three of Levelland, sons; Hector (Anna) Barrera of Seagraves, Arturo Jr. (Patty) Barrera, & Joe (Lupe) Barrera, both of Levelland, Mario (Lucy) Barrera of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Daniel (Debra) Barrera of Ft. Worth, 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 19 great great grandchildren; sisters Frances Flores & Mary Gonzales, both of Lubbock.
Visitation is Thursday April 9th from 3:00p.m. until 9:00p.m.@ Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel of Levelland.
Graveside services will be held on Good Friday, April 10th at 11:00a.m. @ city of Seagraves Cemetery in Seagraves. Officiating will be Pastor Oivdio Martinez & Pastor Jr. Martinez. (Please for the safety of everyone, no more than 10 people at a time at the grave site and please maintain 6 feet between everyone.) Thanks in advance.
