Beatriz Berrones was born July 15, 1938 to Jose Angel and Concepcion  Alvear Berrones. in Matamoros, Mexico. She married Herman Davila Cortez on January 12, 1956 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. They were blessed with 12 children. They moved to the Levelland/Sundown area in 1956 from San Benito, TX. Beatriz was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking for her family, sewing, “cracking funny jokes”. She always wore a beautiful smile and loved all of her family. She would watch her favorite soap operas, and her favorite futbol/soccer team on television. She loved drinking coffee with her husband in the mornings out of the same coffee cup. She was a life time member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Levelland. Beatriz will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Parents; Jose Angel and Concepcion  Alvear Berrones.

She is survived by Sons; David (Alma) Cortez, Sam Cortez, and Joseph (Amber) Cortez, of Levelland, Herman Jr. (Becky) Cortez of Lubbock, Michael (Isabel) Cortez of Snyder, Javier (Virginia) Cortez of Indianapolis, Indiana, Daughters; Sylvia Cortez, Beatriz (Francisco Santillan) Cortez, and Elizabeth (Tony) Cortez Rice of Levelland, Guadalupe Tijerina of Wolfforth, Caridad (Daniel) Salazar, and Maria De La Luz Cortez of Florida, 34 Grandchildren, Sister; San Juana Sandoval of Harlingen, TX., Brother; Fransico Berrones, of Haskell, TX.

Visitation and Reflections of Life will be Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and Monday, Nov. 9th from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. @ Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel of Levelland, Texas.

Recitation of the Rosary will be Monday, Nov. 9th, @ 7:00 P.M. at Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland.

Funeral Service will be held November 10th, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. @ St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Levelland. Officiating the service will be Rev. Jonathan Phillips and music provided by Johnny Vasquez. Interment service will follow at the City of Levelland Cemetery
