Audrey C. Washington

Audrey was born on July 12th, 1935 in Bardwell,TX to Joe Willie & Lorrine Calhoun. She married McClinton “Doc” Washington on March 1st, 1954 in Ellis County. They had seven children. They moved to Hockley County area in 1956 from East Texas. Mrs. Audrey worked with Martha Browder for several years as a professional house keeper and was a care provider for various families. She was a volunteer at helping hands, Goodwill, Citizens Service league, and Community Action Center in Levelland. She was a professional seamstress and a tailor, hair stylist. She enjoyed shopping, collecting jewelry and hats, watching Good times on Television and cooking for her family. Mrs. Audrey never met a stranger and loved everybody. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by Her parents; Joe Willie & Lorrine H. Calhoun, Spouse; McClinton "Doc" Washington, and Son; Lendon C. Washington.

She is survived by 4 Sons; Mackie Lee Washington and Bobby Ray (Christina) Washington of Levelland, Joe Lee (Beverly) Washington of Longview, Walter Cronkite (Maria Elena) Washington of Lubbock, 2 Daughters; Ella Mae (Michael) Nathaniel of San Antonio and Martha Ann Washington of Killeen, Brother; Willie Ray Calhoun, 19 Grandchildren, 42 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great Great Grandchildren

Visitation and Reflection of Life will be held July 6th and 7th, Monday & Tuesday, from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. and Wednesday July 8th from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. Family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. @ Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel of Levelland. Visitation will resume Thursday @ 9:30 A.M. until Service time at Head Duarte Funeral Chapel in Levelland.

Church services will be held Thursday July 9th at 11:00 A.M. @ Head Duarte Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland. Officiating will be Elder Tyrone Nathaniel and Brother Joe Lee Washington. Music will be provided by the church choir.

Interment service will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Levelland.
